Magistrate Hearings

Magistrate hearings are unique to Massachusetts.  A magistrate hearing provides a person accused of a crime the opportunity to prevent a criminal complaint from issuing.

Although you are not required to have an attorney with you at a magistrate hearing, it is wise to bring one because the attorney can speak on your behalf and present a legal argument.
