Edward (“Teddy”) McNaught started practicing as a defense attorney over fifteen years ago, working court-appointed cases for the Essex County Bar Association Advocates, Inc. In 2014, Teddy founded Edward A. McNaught III, P. C. Over the life of his career, he has handled in over one thousand unique, criminal matters – including everything from trespassing to life felonies.
Teddy has defended people against drug charges, gun charges, rape, sexual assault, domestic assault and battery, larceny (theft), check fraud, threats, animal cruelty, operating under the influence, negligent operation, vehicular homicide, and more.
Teddy has also counseled crime victims, people with outstanding warrants, and many individuals at magistrate (or “show-cause”) hearings. He has significant experience both defending and obtaining restraining orders for his clients. He has litigated cases in Massachusetts Juvenile, District, Superior, and Federal Court.
Before becoming a defense attorney, Teddy worked as a law clerk at a large, civil defense firm and a paralegal / investigator with Office of Bar Counsel.
